LA-TeX

Can someone provide me with clear, easy instructions on where to download La-Tex, and how? I have to ftp it somehow, but I cannot figure out where to get it or what to do.

My bud Lang is a latex freak. you should e-mail him at lang@coptix.com, seriously, he's nuts about it.

Another option: the new Math-type can generate LaTex output without the investment involved in learning how to use it. There are also a few other third-party front ends for Tex that are more intuitive.

Scott, I haven't worked with LaTeX in ages but you might want to shoot an email to Paul Duggan and ask him...he used to work with it, too.

Also, look here:

I imagine some of those links are quite useful.

Go to Miktex.com for a windows version of LaTex. It has its own interface and is self installing + it is free.

Downloading LaTeX. They recommend getting the full version of MiKteX.

I don't think you're going to run it on a Linux desktop (I installed it on a UNIX server many many moons ago in college) and I've never tried to put it on Win.

I love LaTeX. My favorite. Can't do math without it.

If you need some sample LaTeX source... I could send you a few of my awful drafts of papers that use LaTeX.

Great Robi. Please stop by on Friday and help me get it in installed. Thanks everyone else for the suggestions.
